LC Sciences provides a genome-wide microRNA (miRNA) expression profiling service using µParaflo® technology and proprietary probe design, which enable highly sensitive and specific direct detection of miRNAs. We have standard arrays for mature miRNA of all species available in the latest version of the Sanger miRBase database (Release 12.0). Our service is comprehensive and includes small RNA enrichment from your total RNA sample, single or dual color labeling, hybridization, image data processing and data analysis. Two-three weeks after receiving your total RNA samples, we send you the analyzed data, representative and original images of the array, and raw data. We offer additional products and services including arrays containing miRNA*, walk/tiling arrays, custom arrays (first 100 probes free of charge), and in-depth analysis for multiple data sets. The optional data analysis may include multi-array normalization, t-test, ANOVA, False Discovery Rate calculator, and/or clustering analysis.

Special Announcement - miRBase Version 12.0 - Now Available!

Sept 1st, 2008 - With the addition of 2062 new mature miRNA sequences, the Sanger microRNA Sequence Database (miRBase) announced it's largest update in miRBase history: the latest release is miRBase version 12.0 and features a total of 8273 mature miRNA sequences.  Many sequences have been updated or revised.  For the first time, miRNAs are reported from : 10 new Drosophila species, Platypus, Tomato, Red Flour Bettle, and Two polyomaviruses.  There has been a significant increase in the number of miRNAs reported for Human and model species such as Chimpanzee, Mouse, and Arabidopsis as well as agriculturally important species such as Rice, Soybean, Pig, and Chicken.

Overview of the Service

Microfluidics Microarray Platform

The µParaflo® technology integrates high throughput parallel synthesis, microfluidics, and digital photolithography to create custom arrays of DNA, RNA, or peptides.  Our advanced microarray platform delivers more reliable results than are possible with traditional spotted arrays.

Optimized RNA Hybridization Probes

LC Sciences’ Optimized RNA Hybridization Probes are designed with normalized Tms to ensure uniform hybridization affinity to their microRNA targets under high stringency hybridization conditions enhancing both the sensitivity and specificity of the probes.

The Most Current Content

LC Sciences offers the only microRNA microarray currently available with version 12.0 probe content.  Not 90% or 95% coverage, but 100% of experimentally verified microRNA sequences are represented on all of our arrays.

Complete Content Flexibility

All of LC Sciences’ microarrays are made to order and synthesized to each customer’s particular specifications.  Validate predictions, add custom controls, or create totally custom tiling arrays for discovery of novel small-RNAs.  The choice is up to you!

No Limitation on Use of Data

Unlike with proprietary probe content, we hold no claims on your data.  You have full access and control over the results generated from your experiments.

The Standard for Array Data Quality

The µParaflo® technology enables on-chip synthesis ensuring high probe quality and tight process control.  The data obtained by these microarrays is highly reliable and reproducible as validated by qPCR and Northern Blot.

In Depth Data Analysis

LC Sciences’ in-depth data analysis includes all t-Tests, ANOVA and heat maps to get you the information you need. Complex multi-array experiments are no problem for our experienced technical team.  We can easily compare samples from different chips or even new experimental data to data from previous experiments.

The Most Customer Publications

LC Sciences' customers have published over 30 papers to date; have confirmed that  microRNAs play an important role in a wide array of biological functions.
